Down 'N' Out CD Release Party @ Wicks Dixie
I got a call from Jim Kimble, the father of one of the band members. His call was to invite me out to a CD release party last Friday at Wicks Pizza on Dixie Highway.
I was amazed to learn that all the band members are 17 - Shane Kimble "lead guitar," Alex Hensen "bass," Tj Birchfield "drums," and Cameron Haines, singer and "rhythm guitar." These kids started at local rock schools in different bands and over time came together to be know as Down 'N' Out in its present form.
When Shane became part of the band about a year ago they became much more focused on creating original music and recording - they found a local record producer and now have their first collaboration - and were voted best young band in Louisville by LEO. All three bands were a big hit Friday Night as the crowd went wild. I was even asked to do the Honors as emcee.
The Party started off with a band called the Cigarettes, then The Main Act, Down 'N' Out, and to finish up the night Bolt Action.
It was a power-packed night of great music, food, and of course merchandise. Check out the Music of Down 'N' out here.
As always Music Central Thanks Jim and the Band for the invite. It was an honor to be there. When you see this band in the near future playing on stages like Freedom Hall, you can say you saw it here first....
