I've taken the bike out about 5 times now and am starting to get used to it. I actually made it up to 4th gear, which seemed really scary when I first started.
Man o man, there's a huge sense of freedom when you ride. I really like being out in the open air; I feel as I am more a part of nature than when I'm in a steel box called a car. Of course, I feel this same kind of freedom when I ride a bicycle, but I'm exerting so much effort cycling that it feels more like exercise than being a part of nature.
I think I'm going to like this.
For those of you who have asked, it is a '94 Honda Shadow VLX 600. My friend bought a new bike and sold me hers for a steal. I'm a lucky woman. Really. This is a perfect bike to use to learn. I'm sure, at some point, I'll want to upgrade, but this really works for now.
I was kind of disappointed that I had to take my SUV to work today instead of the bike!!!
