Yes, I'd like two tickets to the Big East basketball tournament in New York, and to travel on a chartered plane and have luxury hotel accommodations.

Yes, I'd enjoy a week at a North Carolina resort where I could invite 20 friends.

And yes, it would be cool if Chef John Varanese would come over to prepare a five-course meal for six with wine pairings.

I'm only dreaming a little bit, but those are among the auction packages at the annual March of Dimes Signature Chefs event Thursday night at the Galt House.

In Louisville, we're pretty good at showing up for charitable causes, and this is one of the best ones. There will be 20 local restaurants set up around a big room dishing out delicacies, and you can eat and drink all the fine cuisine and tasty libations you can handle.

The restaurants: Asiatique, BLU Italian Grille, Bourbons Bistro, Buck's, Corbett's Restaurant, The English Grill at the Brown Hotel, Jack Fry's, Lilly's, Limestone, Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge, Martini Italian Bistro, Mitchell's Fish Market, Pendennis Club, Porcini's, RIVUE Restaurant & Lounge, Saffron's, Varanese, Vincenzo's, The White Oak and Z's Fusion.

Partial List of Actual Local Celebrities Expected to Show Up: John Asher Churchill Downs), Roger Burkman (ex-U of Ler), Chase Cain (WHAS-TV), Denny Crum (Hoops legend)and Susan Sweeney Crum (WFPL-FM), Drew Deener (790 WKRD), Mel and Ron Fisher (WHAS-AM), Francene (WHAS-AM), Kelly K and Ben Davis (WDJX), Eric King (WLKY-TV), Lori Lyle and Janelle McDonald of WAVE-TV, Julie Smith of the CW, Fox41's Elizabeth Woolsey, and a blogger from Mojo.

If that's not enough, guests are invited to an official "after" party at Volare on Frankfort Ave., starting at 10.

The event usually attracts more than 600 guests. Tickets are available, for $200, through the March of Dimes at (502) 895-3734.
