Film Guy at LouisvilleMojo here with the rundown for this November 20-22 Weekend should you choose to hang out at Stonybrook, Baxter, Village 8, Tinseltown, or any others.

Opening This Weekend:

“Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans” – Remake/reboot of Harvey Keitel movie finds Nic Cage in the title role as a no-holds-barred cop as crooked as the crooks he takes down. This time it's set in New Orleans.

“The Blind Side” – A young, African-American teenager from a broken home is taken in by a well-to-do white family. He must rise up against new challenges in his life and the family finds out more about themselves as well. Stars Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw.

“New Moon” – Episode Two of the “Twilight Saga” based on the books.

“Planet 51” – When an astronaut lands on a planet that fears alien invasion, he has to avoid capture and reclaim his ship to return to Earth. With the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott, Jessica Biel, Gary Oldman, and John Cleese.

“Precious” – Based on the “Push” novel about a black girl who grows up being abused by her mother, raped by her father, and ends up poor, angry, illiterate, unloved, and unnoticed.

For Your Indie/Art-house Consideration:

“An Education” – In the post-war, pre-Beatles London suburbs, a bright schoolgirl is torn between studying for a place at Oxford and the more exciting alternative offered to her by a charismatic older man. (Yahoo! Movies)

“Still Walking” – Fifteen years ago, Junpei, the youngest son of the Yokoyama family died while rescuing a boy from drowning. On the anniversary of his death, the remaining siblings visit the quaint home of their parents with their families in tow. (Yahoo! Movies)

The Rundown: First off I've already watched “The Blind Side” and recommend it. Check out my review HERE. Other than that… Nic Cage remake movie? No. Teen vampires and werewolves? No. “Planet 51” looks to be a good kids movie. “Precious” has been getting a lot of positive talk.

There you have it: “The Blind Side,” “Precious,” and maybe “Planet 51.”
