WTF!?!?!

Humanity is miserable. "Surrogate parents" is the new term for people who buy pet monkeys and treat them as children. There are numerous results of this. Diabetes has infiltrated another branch of the primate family due to severe malnutrition and a sedintary lifestyle. These animals are traumatized by being ripped away from their birth mothers by the breeders. Just for everyone's information, this is the same thing that happens to dogs and other animals you buy from breeders. It is no exaggeration that when you buy an animal from a breeder you kill another animal in a shelter. DO NOT ... more

hot dog pt 2

okay, so i finally got around to shaving the dog. i will never in my right mind attempt something like this at home. i say go ahead and plunk down the $40 it costs at the groom. it is so worth it not to still be picking dog hair out of your bra AFTER washing it. twice. inhaling dog hair is quite the unpleasant experience also. i felt like i needed some kitty hair-ball remedy. hacking and gagging i'm tellin ya!! not to mention that ralph looks like someone hit him with the lawn-mower. he looks like an unfinished project, because you see he wasn't very cooperative through the whole thing ... more

Hot Dog!

okay, so the hot weather is in full swing. we are all running around outside with less clothing on of course. this again makes me remember that there are positives to the economy sucking. i can't afford potato chips and ho-ho's. because if i have the money i just can't help myself. so back to the point. everyone is in their summer clothes but my poor wooly little shih-tzu ralph. so i have decided to shave him. he is gonna look so funny!! thats all he is is hair....but he must be miserable. it kinda breaks my heart though. his coat is soooo soft n fluffy, i just can't seem to keep my ... more

Lilly My Pittie...

Today I am taking my Lilly to meet her possible new adoptive family. I know this is the right decision, in adopting her out, I am moving due to financial reasons and the little town I am moving to has no place that will allow me to keep her because she is a Pit Bull. Dog racists!! And I am sure that this new family will give her a good home, they have 5 kids to play and romp and wear her little butt out, they are financially able to provide excellent care for Lilly, they want her to be an indoor dog and family companion, which I require in a possible new home... but still of course, I am s ... more

Lilly, the Love Pittie (Pit Bull)

I have this dog that is just the shit! I mean she is so lovable, so sweet, and just the best little thing ever. Her name is Lilly. And she is a Pit Bull. I am so mad at how the media has portrayed this breed of dog with out supplying ALL the facts. Hell, some of the "Pit Bull attacks child" stories werent even PIT BULLS!!! But apparently that is not important. Pit Bulls bring readers and news listeners. I wish that before ANYBODY blames an American Pit Bull Terrier for a crime they would first go to this site.... www.pitbullsontheweb.com/petbull/findpit.html And LEARN what breeds can foo ... more

Blind Dog

One of our beloved dogs, Kit-Kit, suddenly went blind in one eye this week. It happened practically overnight. One day her eye was gummed up with discharge, the next day the pupil was white. It's a cataract. The vet wants us to see an animal opthalmologist to make sure it's not related to something more severe, such as a tumor, and to check out her other eye for signs of problems. I don't know what to do if she becomes blind in both eyes. Surgery is very expensive and has significant risks. ... more

New furry addition

Well, as the mommy to a young daughter and 2 furry little people (my cocker spaniel/beagle mix and a poodle) and countless fish at any given moment, my home is a zoo. However, my daughter wants to try her hand at taking care of her own little fur people. Yep, been coming on for awhile now. She is 7, so you can imagine. After much consideration, negotiation and discussion, she has settled on a dwarf hamster rather than a small white little girl poodle. (Thank goodness!) I am sure a puppy dog of her choosing will come along at some point, but for now she is ecstatic to care for this teeny ... more

Help Stop Cruelty To Animals, You Can Make A Difference

As a nation, we claim to love cats and dogs. Millions of households have pets, and billions of dollars are spent yearly on pet supplies and food. But as a nation, we should take a hard, sobering look at a different annual statistic: the millions of dogs and cats given up to shelters or left to die on the streets. And the numbers tell only half the story. Every cat or dog who dies as a result of pet overpopulation—whether humanely euthanized in a shelter or by injury, disease, or neglect—is an animal who, more often than not, would have made a wonderful companion, if given the chance. Tremendou ... more
