Story

What are your thoughts? Personally I think it is silly to try and change the name. It will cause him issues, just look at the last comment posted on the page.

Posted by: Todd Adams Location: Harlan on Oct 29, 2009 at 11:43 AM So I'm back... and how can we impeach this guy? I'm serious. Lets lead by example and impeach this guy and in the process show the rest of the country what might happen to them. Let's show them we voted them in and we can vote them out. I wonder how CNN and the other news leftwingers would portray us then? By george, let's find a way to impeach this guy. He's not my governor, and I sure didn't vote for him. BTW, I wonder what his stance on coal is also, behind closed doors?

Good, its about time we take some steps to unclench the fingers of the religious institutions from around our government's throat. Maybe soon we can start working on yanking the tax exempt status from churches who engage in political activism. I hope this goes a few tiny steps towards helping the fundies realize that this isn;t a friggin theocracy.

at what point does a christmas tree come into christian lore?
when someone can explain that to me, using BIBLICAL text, then we have to call it a christmas tree. But since there is no direct reference(the tree has pagan connections) he can call the tree whatever the hell he wants and christians crying over it need to shut the hell up.

but hey, i could be wrong. but i doubt it.

Governor Beshear, Liberal that he is, is simply being a politically-correct pussy. It was to be expected.

People who claim that they're "offended" all the time and file lawsuits need a good punch in the face.

But since there is no direct reference(the tree has pagan connections) he can call the tree whatever the hell he wants and christians crying over it need to shut the hell up.

Try to reason this dumb shit by word play all you want, but you wind up looking as idiotic as besheer. No matter what you choose to call it, it's still a christmas tree and everyone knows it. Calling it by another name is just pathetic pandering to crybaby bitches that have a personal grudge against christianity and enjoy being assholes.

You don't have to be a christian to enjoy a christmas tree around christmas time. You do, however, have to be an asshole to have a problem with a christmas tree though.

I guess Jews are assholes, or how about Muslims.... By the way, no one has a problem with it, they just are trying to be aware of all those other heathens that arent christian.

Wrong and wrong. Jews and Muslims are assholes if they have a PROBLEM with the christmas tree. All Jews and Muslims don't have a problem with it, they just don't observe it in their religion. You're an asshole if you think everything in the world that doesn't apply to you needs to be removed from everyone's sight because moronically, it somehow offends you. And yes, everyone who is "offended" by a christmas tree is a moron.

They're not JUST being aware, they're being idiots and pretending like every member of another religion is going to cry themselves to sleep if they are subjected to the horrific image of something they don't believe in in passing as they do their day to day things.

There's a thing to be said for tradition, and this tree being called a christmas tree has had zero reasonable negative impact on anyones lives in the decades that it's been called that.

The war on the war on the war on the war on Christmas starts earlier every year!

Really, who gives a frack that it's called a holiday tree? Who is offended by that? This is once again a dumb, manufactured controversy.

Just another example of the cowardice of conservatism.

Deep in their hearts they know that their idiot traditions and most beloved symbols only have continued staying power if they keep cramming it down down folks' throats whether welcome or not. When the conditioning exercises end, they whine like little bitches about it.

Considering you dont even know what a conservative is, I'd keep my mouth shut if I were you skippy.

I don't? I've spent an inordinate amount of time around them - used to think I was one.

I know exactly what they're about, and am well aware of where the thought pattern goes.

Satan is certainly behind much of anything that is anti Christian for sure.

It is hard to believe in the xtian version of Satan, when you don't believe in the xtian version of God.

That statement is like saying "If it is anti-Democrat, it must be Republican." "If it is anti-hot, well then it -must- be pro-cold." Wrong.

Yet another instance of you being incapable of any type of nuanced thinking. Nearly every issue has a middle ground, or even a stance that takes absolutely nothing from wither side. You have consistently proven that such a concept is beyond you. I think it could be what caused a great deal of your distress.

No, you in fact dont know shit about conservatism. You have simply confused your limited experience with a few to determine that to be your view of the many. In fact, much of what you deem to be attributed to conservatism is actually embedded within statism, it just comes in a really slick, easy to slurp down & enjoy package that you obviously continue to enjoy to this moment.

Sonny boy, you're talking to the only guy on this forum who has:

- had personal conversations with Pat Buchanan and Cap Weinberger
- participated in strategy calls with a frequent FOX guest
- been in a position at an internal party meeting to insult Mitch McConnell to his face long before he bacame a Senator
- passed up meet 'n greet strategery gatherings at Grover Norquist's house
- known who and what Bulldog Gannon was before Scott McClellan tossed out the first softball question at a White House press conference.

And that is just a little part of it. So yes, I am well aware of what they are and the predominant mindset. The question is, are you?

My "token" experiences come to quite a bit more than rubbing one out to the musings of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, or gazing lovingly on the demented scribblings of Erick Erickson and RedStateTrikeForce.

Oh gawd..more of your lofty pseudo wanna be intellectual drivel. Get some protein in your rhetorical diet for shits sake dude!

Yes, yes. I realize that asking you to think in complex thought patterns, and to consider actual moralistic and political ideas that aren't simple enough to be boiled down into a picture book is asking a lot from someone as intellectually hobbled as you seem to be. But just because I don't have your 'its all black and white' blinders on MY eyes doesn't mean that I don't hold concrete beliefs, and come down on one side or the other of any given topic. Some day you'll grow up into a fully functioning adult, capable of examining non-concrete, complicated, ideas as well.

Until that day, You're just going to have to take our word for it that the Earth isn't flat, thunder is not the sound of angry gods, the moon isn't made of cheese, and the sun does NOT in fact orbit the earth.... Maybe on that day you'll finally be able to grasp the complexities of English punctuation and grammar. It should be quite an experience for you.

Personally, I don't give a fuck if someone is offended by it being referred to as a "Christmas" tree. If they don't like it, tough shit.

Oh, but we can't have that, can we? No, whiny-ass atheists and non-Christians ("What about us man? Huh? What about us?") have to be catered to, as they are apparently some of the most easily offended little babies out there.

I don't? I've spent an inordinate amount of time around them - used to think I was one.-Komarovsky *spit*

Ha! Dude, you were never, ever a Conservative. You may have been a "member" of the Republican party, but you've always been a hate-filled vitriol-spewing lefty, and it was simply a matter of when you "came out". Thankfully someone in the Republican party pissed you off (I'm guessing it was a woman who wisely refused your advances), and by doing so allowed you to finally be free. By all means, continue to fly!

Don't people ever get tired of being offended?

Why is it called a Christmas tree? Because that's what we call it. Don't like it. Fuck you.
