My mother is 64 (she'll be 65 in June) and she's trying to find nice income based and/or senior apartments in a good neighborhood, but we're having trouble locating very many. Any links or places to look would be greatly appreciated.

You're not suppose to start more than one thread about the same subject, even if it is in different forums.
Just thought I'd let you know that, because one or both may be deleted.

Depends on what she's looking to spend.

There can be a lot of riff-raff in section eight housing that's not just for seniors, plus a waiting list.

There's two senior living communities in Corydon, IN. Capital Court apartments and Hillview (I think). Hillview has larger apartments. I believe both are income based.

Yes, I'm aware, thank you.
And you did it anyway.........

Capital Court has a long waiting list. They told my friends FIL that it might be over a year before he can get an apartment there, if that soon. So he's basically waiting for someone to die.

There is Fairington on Buechel Bank Rd. near Newburg. The apartments are nice. There are call buttons in each if help is needed. There's some recreation opportunities including a fishing lake. My mom has had a couple of friends there and they were happy with it.

Sacred Heart Village has 3 senior only HUD buildings, 2 in Clifton and 1 in Shively, all super nice. You may also want to call KIDPA, they can give you some referrals.

There is a senior community in Clarksville--- off of Potters Lane (I think thats right) called Westminister

There is also one in New Albany, though I can't remember where exactly, but they live on their own, and someone comes to check on them daily I believe.
